Switzerland's regional blood transfusion services
The processing and management of your personal data is carried out exclusively by the regional blood transfusion service which is responsible for your data, namely the service which provides your donor number and to which you are allocated when you register with www.meine-blutspende.ch.

Security
www.meine-blutspende.ch implements appropriate security concepts and security standards to ensure your personal data is protected.
SSL encryption is used for all data transfers.

Data centre in Switzerland
Your data is stored only on servers located in a data centre in Switzerland which has ISO/IES 27001:2013 certification.

No tracking or analysis tools
www.meine-blutspende.ch does not use external tracking or analysis tools which transfer data to third parties. We use only the online analysis tool Matamo, which is recommended by data protection specialists and uses pseudonymization to analyse data on our own servers.

Swiss Transfusion SRC believes that protecting your privacy is of utmost importance. So you can rest assured that we adhere to the legal provisions of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information use only

It is, in general, possible to use our platform without entering any personal data. If you use our platform for information purposes only – i.e. if you do not register and do not submit any forms to us – we will only collect the data which your browser transfers to us for technical reasons (e.g. IP address, internet browser, operating system, time at which page is visited). We analyse this data for statistical purposes only; this enables us to constantly improve the service we offer. The data for all users is aggregated and cannot be allocated to a specific person.

Personal data

After successfully registering on www.meine-blutspende.ch you can use various online services provided via the platform. While you are actively using these services you will have access to further personal data relating to your blood donations. Even if you have not yet donated blood, you can register on www.meine-blutspende.ch and begin using some services.

We process your data only in the context of your registration on www.meine-blutspende.ch. The basis for collecting and processing your data is the consent you gave at your first blood donation session run by your regional blood transfusion service in Switzerland.
All data is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The processing of your data is carried out exclusively by the regional blood transfusion service/services which is/are responsible for your data, namely the service/services which provides/provide your donor number and to which you are allocated when you register with www.meineblutspende.ch.

Your registration

Your registration on www.meine-blutspende.ch
To register on www.meine-blutspende.ch you are initially required to submit the following data: donor number, last name, first name, password of your choice, date of birth, postcode, town and e-mail address. The e-mail address will be used to verify your registration. You will receive an e-mail containing a verification link. You must click on this verification link to complete your registration on www.meine-blutspende.ch and log in.

Postal verification
For you to gain access to sensitive information concerning your blood donation, one-off verification by post is required. For this purpose we will send an access code valid for 30 days to the postal address you have given us.
Once you have verified yourself by entering this access code, you will have full access to the platform and be able to use all the services.
The letters containing the access codes are sent by our service provider Funke Lettershop AG, Bernstrasse 217, 3052 Zollikofen.

Login and two-factor authentication
In addition to entering your personal login credentials (e-mail address and password), you can increase login security by using 2-factor authentication.
If you choose this, every time there is a login attempt, a confirmation code is sent to the e-mail address registered on the system. This confirmation code must be entered into the relevant field and is valid for 10 minutes.

Data & services on www.meine-blutspende.ch

Once you have logged in using your login credentials, you can view your personal data on www.meine-blutspende.ch and request changes.

You can also choose which messages you wish to receive by e-mail by adjusting the settings at any time.

Contributions & comments
If you make any contributions or comments in the forum, these will be published together with your first name, the first initial of your last name, and your regional blood transfusion service. If you have uploaded a profile photo, this will also be published with your contribution or comment. You can attach a photo or video to your contribution. Other users will also be able to comment on your contribution. You can delete your own contributions and comments on other people's contributions at any time. Please ensure that content you create does not infringe the rights of third parties.
Your contributions can be read by all donors who use www.meine-blutspende.ch.
In the forum, only donors who have actively contributed to the forum or commented on a contribution will be listed.

Travel and vaccinations check / My trips and my vaccinations
On www.meine-blutspende.ch you can enter personal data on the trips you have made and the vaccinations you have received under the travel and vaccinations check. This data is used on the platform exclusively to inform you of the earliest date on which you can next donate blood. This data is stored only within your personal profile on the platform and is not transferred to or processed by any participating regional blood transfusion service. When you delete your login, this data will also be deleted.

Donation history & vital signs
After your postal verification, you will be able to view your donation history on www.meine-blutspende.ch. In addition to the donation date you will be able to see the type of donation, place of donation, and your vital signs.

Digital blood donation pass
In the app you can click on "Blood donation pass" to create a digital blood donation pass. For this purpose your regional blood transfusion service will process the following personal data: your name, your date of birth, your donor number, your blood group. You can then use the blood donation pass barcode you have generated to access your donor data when you attend blood donation appointments.

After you have created your digital blood donation pass, you can save it in the Apple Wallet on your iOS mobile device. We do not transfer any donation pass data to Apple for this purpose and do not receive any data from Apple for you to use the digital blood donation pass in the Apple Wallet. From the perspective of data protection legislation, Apple is the data processor for data which is processed in connection with your use of Apple Wallet. Information on how Apple processes your data in connection with Apple Wallet can be found at www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/wallet/.

Which web analysis services do we use?

Matomo
On our website we use Matomo, an open source web analytics application, to collect and store data for marketing and optimization purposes. This data is available to Swiss Transfusion SRC and is not passed on to third parties. User profiles can be created from this data under a pseudonym. Cookies can be used for this purpose. The data collected using Matomo will not be used to personally identify website users without the explicit consent of the data subject and will not be combined with personal data that identifies the bearer of the pseudonym.

Use of YouTube plugins
Our website uses plugins from the Google-operated YouTube site. The site operator is YouTube LLC, of 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our web pages on which a YouTube plugin has been placed, a link is created to the YouTube servers. The YouTube server receives information via this link on which of our web pages you have visited.

If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to associate your surfing patterns directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

The following information explains the content of our e-mails and describes our registration, distribution and statistical analysis processes. By registering for the digital donor service, you agree to receive e-mails and with the processes described.

Distribution
We only send e-mails and other electronic messages with the consent of the recipient.

Information collection and analysis for statistical purposes
When an e-mail is accessed, we collect technical information, such as the time at which it is accessed. This information is used to improve the technical aspects of our services and check deliverability in general. The statistics gathered also include verification of whether the e-mails have been opened, when they were opened, and which onward links were clicked. This data is not personally attributed to users.

Service providers used for sending e-mails and SMS messages
This website currently uses Brevo (previously sendinblue) to send e-mails and SMS messages. The provider is Sendinblue SAS, 47, Rue de la Chaussée d’Antin, 75009 Paris, France.

Brevo is a service which, in addition to other functionality, enables the distribution of e-mails to be organized and analysed. The data required to send the message (e-mail address or mobile number) is stored on the Brevo servers. The host servers which Brevo uses to process and store its databases are located exclusively in the European Union. Brevo has undertaken not to transfer any data outside the European Union.

Legal basis
The basis for processing your data is your consent. You may revoke consent this consent at any time. Revoking your consent does not affect the legality of data processing carried out before revocation.

Storage period
The data you store on this system for the purpose of appointment reminders will be stored until it is deleted.

In your settings you will find further options regarding the e-mails we send you, and you can adjust these at any time. This enables you to specify the purposes for which we are allowed to send you e-mails.

Hosting & operation
Our hosting provider is Akenes SA – Exoscale, Boulevard de Grancy 19A, 1006 Lausanne. The processor for www.meine-blutspende.ch development and operation is deltacity.NET GmbH & Co. KG, Am Biederlackturm 2, 48282 Emsdetten, Germany.

HERE Maps application On our website we use HERE Maps (API) from HERE Global B.V., Kennedyplein 222-226, 5611 ZT Eindhoven, Netherlands («HERE»). HERE is a web service which supplies interactive maps to display geographical information visually.
When you use this service you see a map and all the relevant map data, and this is linked to the HERE website for the purposes of route planning. When you access the underlying pages into which the HERE map is integrated, your IP address is transferred anonymously to the HERE servers, where it is stored.
The map is an integral part of the functionality of our website and services, thus the transfer of data is performed on the basis of legitimate interest.

Deletion of data and logins

You can delete your data or your login in its entirety at any time via your settings. Your login and all the data you have entered on www.meine-blutspende.ch will then be irrevocably deleted, unless there is a legal obligation to retain data.

Length of storage

We store the data as long as you are using www.meine-blutspende.ch or until you delete the data or your login to the service in its entirety. If you do not log into the service for 5 years, we will delete your login.

Revocation

You can revoke all consents to the collection and processing of your personal data at any time; this revocation is not retrospective and will apply to future collection and processing only.
